How you can help

When a child is sick it can be very frightening. The speed at which things happen, the strange words people use and the ‘Clinical environment’. Sadly, 1 in 5 children will access healthcare and many of these will be in an emergency situation.

Action for Sick Children has been the charity that many people turn to, to support them. We provide them with information and advice at this time. We recognise that the whole experience can be stressful and frightening for the child and their family. With this in mind, we campaign to make services the most child friendly that they can be and we aim for information to be as clear as possible. We are experts at doing this, as we have been working in the area for over 40 years. In fact many of the improvements in services today are the result of our lobbying.

Gift Aid Declaration

Donate via your payroll
Check out if your employer runs a Payroll Giving Scheme. If it does, fill out a pledge donor form to give regularly to The Child Concern Consortium.
Remember: every £3.90 (or £3 if you are a higher rate tax payer) you give brings £5.00 to the children's charities because of tax relief.

  • If your employer does not run a scheme, see if you can persuade them to do so. It doesn't cost them a penny and it makes a great deal of difference to the charities and the children they help.
  • Donate via standing order
If you would like to donate regularly to the Consortium with a committed gift, please download our Standing Order form (click here) and return the completed form to us. If you are a UK Taxpayer please complete the Gift Aid section of the form so we can claim the tax back from the Government on your behalf. For every £1 you donate to us the Inland Revenue will give us an extra 28p.
  • Donate online
To make a donation online via your credit or debit card, visit www.givenow.org and select Child Concern Consortium in the Donate section, or click on the following links to gain direct access to CAF's tailored donation form for CCC:

As an employer:

How to start up a Payroll Giving Scheme:

  • If you pay your employees through PAYE, you are almost certainly eligible to offer Payroll Giving.
  • It is easy to set up and any costs you incur can be offset against profits for tax purposes. You simply deduct the amount your employee wants to donate before tax and send the money collected to an Inland Revenue-approved Payroll Giving Agency once a month. The agency does the rest.
  • Click here to download the Payroll Giving Toolkit - published by the Giving Campaign.
  • Are you a small or medium sized company with 1 - 500 employees? If so, you can be rewarded with a grant of up to £500 for setting up a Payroll Giving Scheme. This Government programme will also match pound-for-pound, the first £10 of each of your employee’s monthly donations for six months. It’s a great way to introduce a Payroll Giving Scheme within your company and give a little extra to our charity at the same time. For more information contact us.
Implementing Payroll Giving for your employees is a simple and quick process. All you need to do is to register with an HM Revenue & Customs approved Payroll Giving Agency and have the facility to make pre tax deductions on your payroll system. Registering with a Payroll Giving Agency is a simple process and can be completed within a matter of minutes. Once you have registered and your payroll giving scheme is in place, it takes, on average, about 10 minutes per month for any payroll department to administer the Payroll Giving scheme.
