Welcome
You will know that Action for Sick Children has existed for a long time and we have been pleased that our efforts have improved the quality of healthcare for Children and Young People. This is confirmed in the NSF - National Service Framework for Children. Some may think that our ambitions have been fulfilled and there is little more to do. But children's services nationally are under review and there is no doubt that there will be many changes. We hope that these will improve the health services for children, but we will have to be vigilant. You can help us by keeping us up to date with what is happening in your hospital or PCT.
Are your changes for the better or not? How much of the NSF is being implemented? With this information we will be able to provide a national picture for you to judge your local situation.
We are a local stake holder for the NICE projects which deal with children.
All the colleges and professional organisations take part in these working groups and our role is to put them in touch with parents and children who have experience/ knowledge of the situations that they are researching. Please go to the NICE page to keep up to date with current work and how you can help.
Your support is invaluable. If you think that children need an active advocate why not help to keep us going by becoming a friend
