Celebrate our Volunteers with us! – Meet Pat

It’s the 1st of June and at Action for Sick Children this means one thing: Volunteers’ Week! Volunteers’ Week takes place every year from the 1st to the 7th of June. It’s the chance to say thank you to all the amazing volunteers that decide to dedicate some of their time to help others. There are millions of volunteers with inspiring stories around the UK that every day contribute to achieve something good in our communities. Today we want to give the spotlight to our gem, Pat Marsh, who has been part of our team for almost 4 years.

Pat’s Story

Pat started volunteering at Action for Sick Children after she retired, almost 4 years ago. She used to come once per week to help with admin and now she helps when she can with fundraising.

“My favorite thing is helping others and being in contact with people and the children the charity supports. At Action for Sick Children I help at their events and I support the Dental Playbox® team making sure the brushing bags the Facilitators distribute to children are ready and organised.”

“In my spare time I take part in a lot of committees, I enjoy reading and taking care of my garden. I love gardening! However, one of the things I love the most is for sure looking after my two grandchildren!”

We will never stop saying it:

Thank you very much Pat for your brilliant work with us!

To Get Involved…

There are many different ways to get involved with ACTION FOR SICK CHILDREN. However, giving your time can be just as beneficial as making a financial donation. As ACTION FOR SICK CHILDREN and Dental Playbox grow we will need volunteers in all capacities; whether it be to help out at an event or support our office staff; whether it be for a day or an hour it all helps.
