An educational resource pack of children's drawings and writing on healthcare.
This resource pack of children's words and pictures records with both poignant and amusing immediacy their experience, fears, perceptions and misconceptions, and offers their praise, criticism and advice, direct and indirect, to those who provide their healthcare. Presented as a training tool, it has the potential to challenge students to reflect on their own experience, to listen attentively to what individual children have to say and to develop ways of building what they have learned into their own practice.
The pack consists of a descriptive manual, a collection of children's drawings, slides and teaching notes that can be photocopied. The direct impact of the children's own views makes the slides an ideal tool for raising awareness of children's needs among professionals with less 'hands on' responsibility for provision, such as commissioners and managers of services.
