Dental Playbox Parent ProgrammeOver the last few months we’ve been working in partnership with the University Dental Hospital Manchester to develop a brand new Parents’ Programme. The programme works alongside the

children’s Dental Playbox® sessions with parents to explain the importance of their child’s dental hygiene.

As part of their dentistry degree, students must take part in a volunteering activity. Senior Facilitator, Kerry went along to a volunteer seminar at the University back in November 2016 to let the students know how they could get involved with Action for Sick Children’s Dental Playbox® scheme.

A group of students from the university, alongside Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry, Dr Siobhan Barry, then created and delivered the parent presentation at three schools: Westmorland Primary School, Bridgehall Primary School, and Fairfield Infant and Nursery School.

In the New Year we are hoping to roll out the Parent Programme to schools and nurseries as an add on to the children’s sessions. So, watch this space!
